Prof. Dr. Dirk Czarnitzki

Prof. Dr. Dirk Czarnitzki is a full professor at the faculty of Economics and Business at KU Leuven in Belgium. His research interests are mainly in the fields of industrial organization, applied microeconometrics and the economics of innovation. After his PhD and related work at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, Germany, he was a post-doc at the University of California at Berkeley (hosted by Guido W. Imbens and Bronwyn H. Hall).

Dirk has published more than 70 articles in refereed journals including International Journal of Industrial Organization, Review of Industrial Organization, Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Economics and Business Statistics, Research Policy, European Economic Review and many others.

Furthermore, Dirk has also been consulting the European Commission, the World Bank as well as the German and the Flemish government. He has also been a member of independent expert groups for the European Commission.
